Why upgrade your old electrical panel?

Older panels weren’t built for today’s power-hungry homes.

Many Phoenix homes still rely on 60–100 AMP panels that were installed decades ago. Back then, builders didn’t plan for EV chargers, hot tubs, home offices, and multiple AC units pulling power at the same time.

When your panel is overloaded or outdated, it can mean more than just annoying breaker trips it can become a fire and safety risk if not addressed by a licensed electrician.

Common red flags we see in older panels:

  • Breakers that trip often when you run AC, microwave, or dryer together
  • Warm or buzzing panel, rust, or signs of past burning
  • Original panel in a home built before the 1990s
  • Not enough spaces for new circuits (EV charger, spa, workshop, etc.)
  • Aluminum or double-tapped breakers that no longer meet current code

If any of this sounds familiar, a 200 AMP upgrade is often the safest, cleanest long-term fix.

Questions about panel upgrades?

FAQ's

How do I know if I really need a 200 AMP panel?

During your free in-home estimate, we’ll check your current panel size, how many circuits you’re using, any signs of overheating or crowding, and what you plan to add (EV charger, spa, workshop, etc.). If your existing panel is safe and has room, we’ll tell you that. If it’s undersized or outdated, we’ll explain why a 200 AMP upgrade may be the better move.

Will my power be shut off during the upgrade?

Yes. For safety, your power will be off during the actual panel replacement. Most upgrades can be completed in a single day. We’ll coordinate with the utility and keep you updated so there are no surprises.

Is the estimate really free and no-pressure?

Absolutely. The visit is to give you clear information and pricing so you can make a confident decision. If you decide it’s not the right time, that’s okay—we’re still happy to have met you.

Do you handle permits and inspections?

Yes. As licensed electrical contractors, we pull the required permits and schedule inspections as needed for your city or jurisdiction. We make the process as simple as possible for you.

Can you also upgrade outlets or add new circuits?

Yes. Many homeowners pair their panel upgrade with new dedicated circuits for EV chargers, kitchen appliances, garages, or backyard spaces. We can include those options in your estimate if you’d like.
